Abstract: A clamping device and method for human-medicine or veterinary-medicine applications for the frictionally engaged locking of at least two holding segments, the clamping device has a first holding segment, a second holding segment; a driveable spindle, via which a rotational movement can be converted into an axial longitudinal movement for spindle-locking the second holding segment, and a threaded plate. In this case, the threaded plate can be moved axially in the opposite direction during the spindle movement, wherein, by counter-movement of the threaded plate, at least one wedge body is moveable in a ramp system, in order to clamp the first holding segment.
Abstract: Systems and methods for positioning fairing sheaths are provided. In this regard, a representative method includes using vacuum pressure to assist in moving opposing portions of a fairing sheath away from each other.
Abstract: A shaft coupling for transmitting power including a flexible hollow rod extending in a longitudinal direction and having pairs of helical slots formed thereon. The pairs of slots are spaced from each other along the longitudinal direction of the rod. The shaft is manufactured by providing a hollow rod and advancing the rod with a combined rotational and translational motion. An opening is machined across a diameter of the rod during its advancement to form a pair of intertwined helical slots.
Abstract: Flexible tubular film is helically cut into a flat strip by feeding the tubular film in flattened form from a supply source to a film feeding means advancing the flat film tube at a predetermined velocity to a tube expansion zone in which the flat tube is expanded into a generally cylindrical tube and passed axially over a hollow mandrel slightly less in external diameter than the diameter of the expanded tube to be cut helically while on the mandrel into a flat strop that is removed at an angle to the mandrel axis. The tube is expanded in the zone by inflation with air fed through the mandrel in a direction countercurrent to the direction of tube movement and under a pressure sufficient to render the expanded tube stiff as it slides over the mandrel and resistant to deformation while being helically cut.
Abstract: A device at machines for continuous separation of at least one strip (49) from a hose-formed material web (14). The device (19) incorporates at least two lead rollers (16, 18) at least one (18) of which being tiltable relative to the other, thus that the end portion of the material web, which is thread on the guide rollers at rotation of the guide rollers, is imparted a continuous, axial feeding motion towards a severing device (50). The tiltable lead roller (18) is supported at one free end of an axially displaceable and in different displacement positions arrestable rod (20), the free end of which is pivotably to a limited extent on one hand about a shaft (31) mainly parallel with the rod and on the other hand about an axis (44) mainly perpendicular to the rod. This (20) is equipped with means (33, 43) for arresting its free end in different angular positions.
Abstract: In a knitted tape manufacturing device of the type designed to stretch and rotate a cylindrical knitted fabric around two drums and one roller and to continuously cut the fabric in a tape shape off from the upper circumferential edge portion thereof along a certain width of the fabric in a bias direction and including a support mechanism of the driven drum for feeding uniform width tape in the knitted tape manufacturing device wherein the support mechanism of the driven drum is adjustable so as to bring the axis of the pivot pin of the driven drum in the support mechanism into substantial agreement with the extended line of a tangent at the entering point at which the upper circumferential edge of the cylindrical knitted fabric enters the driven drum.
