The cover/divider has a slit/opening formed or pre-formed therein and positioned adjacent to the tab and spaced away from the free edge. The slit/opening is positioned such that at least part of the tab is receivable through the slit/opening when the tab is in the extended position.

The free edges include opposed top and bottom edges and a side edge. The edge relief may extend along the entire side edge or only a portion thereof. The edge relief may be in the form of, for example, a chamfer, a bevel, a radius, a notch, a step, or the like.

Abstract: Provided is a document reading apparatus capable of suppressing a shock that may occur when a trailing edge of a tabbed sheet passes through a roller pair. In an image reading section, when a document to be read is the tabbed sheet, a timing to start separation of the roller pair in response to detection of a trailing edge of the document is delayed by a time period corresponding to a tab length with respect to the timing to start separation when a document other than the tabbed sheet is conveyed. Thus, it is possible to prevent the shock when the trailing edge of the tabbed sheet passes through the roller pair, and to thereby suppress image reading failure due to the shock.

Abstract: A left-handed checkbook device is disclosed that makes it possible for left-handed users to write checks from a ringed binder without discomfort. The left-handed checkbook device comprises a plurality of check blanks and check receipts which comprise a plurality of binder holes which are positioned on the right end of each check receipt. The plurality of check blanks can also comprise a plurality of perforations positioned on the right end of each check blank, between the check blank and the check receipt, for removing the check blanks from the binder. The plurality of check blanks are secured within a binder via a plurality of binder rings. The plurality of check blanks are positioned on a left side of the binder with a front surface of the plurality of check blanks exposed, such that a left-handed person can easily utilize the check blanks without contacting the binder rings of the binder.

Abstract: A binding member, including a first disk ring portion configured for reception in a binding recess of a sheet member. The first disk ring portion can have an inner surface that faces radially inward for engaging and retaining a first binding protrusion of a sheet member for binding the sheet member. The first disk ring portion can be configured for allowing the bound sheet members to slide around the first disk ring portion while retaining the engagement. The binding member can also have an axial extension member associated with the first disk ring portion and extending generally in an axial direction with respect thereto.

A pocket is formed between the first and second pocket sheets by connecting at least a portion three edges of the first pocket sheet with at least a portion of adjacent three edges of the second pocket sheet. A binder edge is connected to the first and second pocket sheets and configured to be placed in a binder.

Abstract: An inside leaflet of a book is provided which is bond-bound with pages of the book to provide an advertisement. The inside leaflet includes an advertisement printed part and a binding part. Catchphrases or illustrations for advertisement are printed on at least one side of the advertisement printed part. The binding part is configured to be bound with the pages along an edge of the inside leaflet such that the binding part has less binding portions than those of the pages in order to leave no traces or marks when the inside leaflet is detached from the book. Accordingly, since the inside leaflet is able to be bound to pages of various kinds of books and easily removed from the books without leaving any traces or marks in the books, the inside leaflet contributes to extension of the application range of advertisements and improvement of advertisement efficiency.

Abstract: A multi-pocketed decorative fabric organizer that resembles a folding file and serves as a workspace when opened and then folds up in seconds keeping all the items and materials stored in it intact, and provides a portable and compact organizer for various purposes. The organizer consists of a hard surface that folds out to a writing or working space consisting of conveniently located plastic storage pockets and an exterior of decorative fabrics.

Abstract: A sheet stock having a flexible hinge area is described. The sheet stock includes a substrate having an opening and gap stiffener, and a flexible film covering the opening and defining a flexible hinge area in the region of the opening and gap stiffener covered by the film. Methods for producing sheet stock having a flexible hinge area are also described. The sheet stock may be used in printing, binding, and in other applications.

Abstract: This invention relates generally to a file note device for use with a file or stack of sheets bound together by way of one or more binding members disposed through substantially aligned apertures in the sheets, the file note device comprising a planar body including a note zone; and an engagement zone located adjacent an edge portion of the planar body. The engagement zone comprises at least one pair of spaced apart teeth defining a binding member recess therebetween, wherein at least one tooth defines a retaining formation for removably retaining the binding member in the binding member recess, in use. It will be noted that the invention also relates to a bound file comprising one or more file note file note devices in accordance with the invention and a method of providing a note on a file or stack of bound sheets.

The folder may have a plurality of insert elements 52, 60 either at manufacture or by a stub system which are bound into the spine at the valleys 32 of the web which forms the spine. The web is made of outer zig-zag web 40, with the inner web 42, 44, 46 joining adjacent insert elements and the outer web, to create a strong spine of web and inserts.

Abstract: Sheet Lifter for use with multi ring sheet or page holders and multi ring binders. The Device is made from a thin ridged panel with a plurality of notches and slots. The Device is positioned in order to interact with the rings and binder spine of the page holder or binder. The Device rests on the spine with the pages or sheets resting on the Device. The Device prevents the pages or sheets from traveling past the maximum horizontal diameter point of the rings when the holder or binder is fully opened. When the holder or binder is closed the Device creates sufficient upward pressure against the pages or sheets to return them to their closed position at the maximum vertical diameter point of the rings. The pressure required is minimal.

A channel block is located at the open end of said channel and is configured to block and unlock the channel opening. The modular locking binder system is configured to removably hold a document module within the channel. The document module includes a module spine having a widened portion configured to operatively engage and be restrained by the constricted region of the channel. By either obstructing or un-obstructing the channel with the channel block, it is possible to removeably secure the document module within the channel when the widened ends of the document module are operatively engaged and restrained by the constricted portions of the channel.

Abstract: A method of producing an embedded recycled container sheet includes: (a) providing a plurality of empty recycled plastic containers; (b) flattening the plurality of empty recycled plastic containers to reduce their width by at least 80%; (c) providing a base substrate of plastic; (d) placing the plurality of flattened, empty recycled plastic containers on the base substrate; and, (e) applying a molten top layer of plastic on the plurality of flattened, empty recycled plastic containers and on the base substrate, and cooling the molten top layer, so as to embed the plurality of empty recycled plastic containers between the top layer and the base substrate. A method of producing product from the resulting sheet involves creating the product using a processing step selected from the group consisting of molding, casting, cutting, machining, and combinations of these.

The system further includes a polymer writing surface at least partially received in the pocket. The writing surface is movable between an extended position wherein at least part of the writing surface is exposed for writing upon by a writing instrument, and a retracted position wherein less of the writing surface is exposed for writing upon by the writing instrument compared to when the writing surface is in the extended position. At least part of the writing surface is located in the cavity when the writing surface is in the retracted position.

Abstract: An improved structure for book cover includes a cover layer, a left positioning plate and a right positioning plate, wherein the left and the right positioning plates are disposed above the cover layer and the edges of the cover layer can be folded inwardly for being adhered or stitched at the edges of the left and the right positioning plates, and the left and the right positioning plates respectively have a protruded left binding portion and a protruded right binding portion which both have plural holes corresponding to each other for fixing loose leaf papers between the left and the right positioning plates directly by a spiral so as to form a book. Through the improved structure of book cover in the present invention, the manufacturing process can be simplified and the cost of labor and material can be saved.

Further, a sheet for insertion into the book product is described. The sheets can be easily inserted into and removed from the book product.

Abstract: A kit is provided that assists a customer to produce a pocket-sized, disposable photo album. The kit generally has some paper that has been perforated and scored into a grid of wallet-sized rectangles, some adhesives, and instructions for use. A customer prints wallet-sized photos onto the paper within the wallet-sized rectangles. The customer then tears along the perforation lines to create strips of rectangles, and tapes the strips together end-to-end. Lastly, the customer folds the rectangles along the score lines in an accordion-like fashion to create an expandable album that is easily shared. The resulting “album” can be carried in most any pocket and displayed at a moment's notice. This type of album is particularly useful to people who carry wallets instead of purses, but would otherwise like to share photos.

The protector sleeves, which control the release of fragrance from paper sheets to which a fragrance has been applied, are fabricated from polymeric films, such as polypropylene, which have excellent resistance to oils and gases. Barrier sheets may be metalized for enhancement of diffusion barrier qualities. Fragrances may be applied to scrapbook paper by spraying, rolling, painting, stamping, printing or immersion.

Abstract: A journaling system including a binder, journaling sheets, and template sheet. The template sheet includes a plurality of spaced holes spatially arranged to correspond to at least some of the rings in the binder. Typically, each of the holes includes a slit that allows the template sheet to be inserted and removed from the binder without opening the rings. One or more windows are defined in the template sheet which allows a user to write therethrough onto a journaling sheet. A preprinted instruction is disposed adjacent to the window which instructs the user to write a message within the window.
