  • Patent number: 11807817
Abstract: A composition of fuel gas that when mixed with spent catalyst and oxygen has an induction time that allows bubbles to break up while combusting in the regenerator. Bubble breakage in a dense bed avoids generation of a flame that can generate hot spots in the regenerator which can damage equipment and catalyst. The fuel gas can be obtained from paraffin dehydrogenation products, so it can sustain operation of the unit even in remote locations. Heavier streams can be mixed with lighter streams to obtain a fuel gas composition with a desirable induction time to avoid such hot spots. Mixing of a depropanizer bottom stream and/or deethanizer overhead stream with lighter gas streams such as cold box light gas or PSA tail gas can provide the desired fuel gas composition.

  • Patent number: 11780797
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass into ethyl esters of carboxylic acids. Said method consists of treating the biomass material with an oxidizing agent that is incorporated in an solution comprising one or more acids, one or more alcohols and water, and subsequently performing a catalytic reaction at a higher temperature using the same acidic solution into which a larger volume of alcohol is added, in such a way that the catalytic conversion occurs in a medium with a much higher concentration of alcohol, i.e. with a much higher alcohol-to-water wt ratio. Such a method results in relatively high yields of ethyl esters, such as ethyl esters of formic, acetic, and levulinic acids, while producing a low yield of dialkyl ethers, which are unwanted by-products. The concentration of the oxidizing agent in the pre-treatment step is preferably higher than 6.0 wt %.

  • Patent number: 11299442
Abstract: A process for producing acetylene, ethylene, or both is disclosed. The process includes combusting a fuel stream to produce a combustion gas effluent stream and pyrolyzing a feed stream in a pyrolysis zone in the presence of the combustion gas effluent stream to produce a pyrolysis zone effluent stream which is further quenched and compressed. The compressed quenched stream is separated in a solvent separation column to produce a net gas stream comprising hydrogen, methane, and at least one carbon oxide and a product stream. A portion of the carbon oxide of the net gas stream is converted into methane in a methanation reactor and a reactor effluent stream is sent to an amine scrubber where carbon dioxide is removed and a methane containing stream is generated as an effluent. • Patent number: 10131850
Abstract: A naphtha and methanol mixed catalytic cracking reaction process involves a simultaneous cracking reaction of naphtha and methanol using a circulating fluidized-bed reactor comprising a reactor, a stripper, and a regenerator. The naphtha is supplied from the bottom part of the reactor at a position between 0%˜5% of the total length of the reactor, and the methanol is supplied from the bottom part of the reactor at a position between 10%˜80% of the total length of the reactor. The catalytic cracking reaction process uses the circulating fluidized-bed reactor and can crack naphtha and methanol simultaneously by having different introduction positions for the naphtha and methanol in the reactor, which is advantageous for heat neutralization, so that energy consumption can be minimized and also the yield of light olefins can be improved by suppressing the production of light saturated hydrocarbons such as methane, ethane and propane.

Abstract: Producing C5 olefins from steam cracker C5 feeds may include reacting a mixed hydrocarbon stream comprising cyclopentadiene, C5 olefins, and C6+ hydrocarbons in a dimerization reactor where cyclopentadiene is dimerized to dicyclopentadiene. The dimerization reactor effluent may be separated into a fraction comprising the C6+ hydrocarbons and dicyclopentadiene and a second fraction comprising C5 olefins and C5 dienes. The second fraction, a saturated hydrocarbon diluent stream, and hydrogen may be fed to a catalytic distillation reactor system for concurrently separating linear C5 olefins from saturated hydrocarbon diluent, cyclic C5 olefins, and C5 dienes contained in the second fraction and selectively hydrogenating C5 dienes. An overhead distillate including the linear C5 olefins and a bottoms product including cyclic C5 olefins are recovered from the catalytic distillation reactor system.
