    Abstract: The trimmer can cut the edge portion of the bound material. An edge portion 1a of a bound material 1 is provided with first and second lines 100 and 101. The first and second lines are spaced at a small interval X and arranged in parallel to each other. The first line is arranged outside of the second line of the bound material. A control unit 7 controls first and second drive mechanisms 21 and 56 in such a manner that the edge portion 1a of the bound material is cut at the first line by a trim cutter 20, then the trim cutter or the table 10 is moved at the small interval X in a moving direction 56a toward the second line, and then the edge portion of the bound material is cut at the second line by the trim cutter.

The size of the opening which is cut in the mat is adjustable by adjusting the mountings for the mat cutters relative to each other. Two mats having slightly different sized openings are easily cut by an easy adjustment of the mat cutters relative to the respective mountings.

    Abstract: An apparatus for feeding elastomeric strips used to form an annular tread reinforcing structure of a vehicle pneumatic tire provided with reinforcing metal cords to a drum which forms the strips into the annular reinforcing structure is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an endless belt looped about spaced pulleys which transfers cut lengths of an elastomeric strip for making an annular tread reinforcing structure from bobbins of the strip to a drum which shapes an annular tread reinforcing member therefrom. The cut lengths of elastomeric strip are maintained in the desired position on the belt and drum by the action of two separate magnetic fields. One of the magnets is stationary and is placed under the belt. The other magnet is adjacent to the belt pulley nearest the drum. Apparatus is provided for laying automatically the two ends of the elastomeric strip on the belt.

The tool includes a cutting head in which one or more cutting elements is inserted. Each cutting element has at least one cutting wheel fixed thereon at a particular location which would lie between conductors of the cable. The tool also includes clamping means so that the cable is securely positioned and will not slip during the cutting operation.

    Abstract: A simple direct acting mechanism moves a circular rotatable disc cutter or two such cutters first to rollably engage a hard surface and then to traverse the surface to part the stock between a side-by-side pair of cords or wires. The cutter or cutters are shiftable along the axis or axes to accommodate deviation of the cords with respect to the travel of the cutter.
