Abstract: The present invention relates to a solid composition which contains a mixture of liquid oil and solid lipid. The solid lipid acts as a solid carrier vehicle for the oil thereby permitting oils to be provided, at relatively high loading, in solid form.
Abstract: The present invention provides a liposome useful as a vaccine adjuvant. More specifically, the present invention provides a liposome which comprises a lipid bilayer comprising dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine and egg phosphatidylglycerol and a conjugated compound in which a low-molecular weight compound enhancing the physiological activity of TLR7 is bound to squalene via a linker, said conjugated compound being encapsulated in the lipid bilayer.
Abstract: Core-shell particles and methods of making and using thereof are described herein. The core is formed of or contains one or more hydrophobic materials or more hydrophobic materials. The shell is formed of or contains hyperbranched polyglycerol (HPG). The HPG coating can be modified to adjust the properties of the particles. Unmodified HPG coatings impart stealth properties to the particles which resist non-specific protein absorption and increase circulation in the blood. The hydroxyl groups on the HPG coating can be chemically modified to form functional groups that react with functional groups and adhere the particles to tissue, cells, or extracellular materials, such as proteins.

Abstract: Aqueous solutions of peroxyacids are stabilized by a polymeric stabilizer selected from a phosphino polycarboxylic acid, a poly(acrylic acid)-acrylamidoalkylpropane sulfonic acid co-polymer, or a poly(acrylic acid)-acrylamidoalkylpropane sulfonic acid-sulfonated styrene terpolymer. The polymer-stabilized peroxyacid solutions have applications in aseptic sterilization and disinfecting of surfaces.
Abstract: Bacteriophage covalently attached to a carrier particle with an average diameter of from 0.1 microns to 15 microns, are used in topical treatment of bacterial infection. Bacteriophage covalently attached to a carrier particle of average diameter 7 microns or less are used in systemic treatment of bacterial infection. A plurality of bacteriophages lytic against different bacterial strains gives wide antibacterial activity. A combination therapy comprises administration of antibiotic and bacteriophage covalently attached to a carrier particle.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a plurality of substantially spherical microspheres comprising at least one API substantially dispersed in at least one polymer and a lyoprotectant on an outside surface of the plurality of substantially spherical microspheres, wherein the plurality of substantially spherical microspheres have a D99[num] particle diameter of less than about 10 ?m; a D90[num] circularity value of from about 0.8 to about 1.0; and comprise API in a weight of about 20 to about 40 wt. % of the polymer. Other embodiments relate to injectable compositions comprising such microspheres and methods of treating a number of conditions by administering such injectable compositions to a subject.

Abstract: A composition and method for killing feral hogs: a bait that is attractive to hogs is mixed with a lethal amount of sodium nitrite, along with sufficient base to inhibit decomposition of the sodium nitrite. At sufficiently high pH, encapsulation of the sodium nitrite is not required to inhibit decomposition. In the absence of substantial decomposition, the sodium nitrite itself is not aversive to the pigs, and may even enhance acceptance of the baits by the pigs. Optionally, an anti-emetic compound is added to the mixture to reduce the likelihood the bait will be vomited. Optionally, an additional toxicant such as luteolin is added to the mixture.
