  • Patent number: 8783202
Abstract: A subsurface propeller module, using Voith Schneider propeller technology, is provided for use in underwater vehicle dynamic motion control. One or more modules are mounted between nose and body sections of the vehicle such that their axes of rotation coincide with the longitudinal centerline of the vehicle. This enables the module to thrust in any direction normal to the direction of travel. Wiring for power and sensors can be routed through structural conduits connecting the nose section to the main body of the vehicle and supporting the propeller modules. The structural conduits can be shaped to provide support for the nose and body sections, and to have minimal hydrodynamic impact on vehicle forward motion or module thrust. A sealed housing is provided for the motors and control actuators of the propeller modules.

  • Patent number: 7889931
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods, systems, and apparatuses for providing automated vehicle image acquisition, analysis, and reporting. One embodiment of the invention includes a method for providing vehicle damage information to an interested party. The method can include receiving simultaneously captured image data associated with a vehicle. The method can also include comparing at least a portion of the image data with previously stored image data associated with the vehicle. Furthermore, the method can include based at least in part on the comparison of the portion of image data with previously stored image data associated with the vehicle, determining whether damage to the vehicle exists. In addition, the method can include outputting an indicator of whether damage to the vehicle exists.

  • Patent number: 7360725
Abstract: Crusher has a housing with a cylindrical crushing chamber defined by a tubular wall. Opposed side plates are secured to respective ends of the wall. A drive shaft rotates impact tools within the chamber. An intake aperture and a discharge aperture are in communication with the chamber. An inlet door, having an inner face with a curvature of similar radius to the cylindrical chamber, may be pivoted over the intake aperture such that the inner face is flush with the inner surface of the chamber, whereby impact tools strike and remove material adhering to the inner face. An arcuately shaped screen, having a curvature of similar radius to the cylindrical chamber, may be pivoted over the discharge aperture such that the screen is flush with the inner surface of the chamber. The screen may be pivoted away from the discharge aperture for the service thereof.

  • Patent number: 6119599
Abstract: The invention provides a device for generating surface plasmas, for ignition of propellants. The invention provides a plurality of sheet fuses with insulating sheets separating each fuse. One of the fuses is complete, while the other fuses have a gap. The fuses are sheets formed into concentric coaxial cylinders. The complete fuse forms the outer most cylinder. The fuses sequentially become a plasma starting from the outer most fuse to the inner most fuse.
