  • Patent number: 6631373
Abstract: There is provided a text search apparatus capable of dividing a structured document such as an HTML document into segments, and presenting segments containing a given search key as the search result, thereby providing a part of the document matching the search condition as the result of search. The document is divided into segments by specified tags, and a level of association with an adjacent segment is calculated. A header is detected by a header tag, and the header information is added to the segment contained in the range of the header. Segments are divided and re-integrated according to the level of association therebetween, and indexes are prepared. A search is executed for two indexes, and the level of matching is calculated by weighting the search results for the indexes, and the search result judged according to such level of matching is stored or outputted for each segment.

  • Patent number: 6587820
Abstract: An information processing apparatus inputs a document having a plurality of input items, and displays it using an information display unit. An active input field is discriminated from the plurality of input fields in accordance with the display state of the document. A specific grammar corresponding to the discriminated active input field is selected from a grammar holding unit for holding a plurality of types of grammars, and the selected grammar is used in a speech recognition process.

  • Publication number: 20030061221
Abstract: Sequentially input new document information is sorted and retained in a proper folder to facilitate search and retrieval of a desired document to follow. To this end, a list of proper candidate folders is presented to a user to support user saving works. Discrimination between proper folders is made precise by using a search condition, to thereby make search of a desired document easy and reliable.

  • Publication number: 20020010586
Abstract: In a voice browser apparatus, an HTML document is obtained from a designated URL, the obtained document is analyzed based on a rule designated from a plurality of rules for defining voice input/output contents to fetch voice output contents, voice input candidates and designation information for designating a next object of processing corresponding to each voice input candidate, and the fetched voice output contents are voice-outputted. Then, the voice input from a user for this output is voice-recognized, and controls obtainment of a new document and next analysis based on designation information corresponding to the input candidate matching the recognition result. Thereby, contents for the graphical user interface can easily be browsed using voice input/output.

  • Publication number: 20010049604
Abstract: To provide a browser apparatus with the contents of data provided on a network in a form of voice data, voice data indicating a part or the whole of the contents of the data provided on the network is formed and stored on a gateway, on the basis of the data. Data is formed by adding to the data provided on the network an identifier <VOICEOUT . . . >indicating a location where the voice data is stored. This data is provided to the browser apparatus. The browser apparatus receives the voice data from the location indicated by the identifier.
