  • Patent number: 8121786
Abstract: The invention has as its object to determine a risk of collision on the ground between an aircraft and another object. The aircraft comprises at least one proximity detector and a communication system suitable for setting up a communication among several points, at least one of the points being able to be external to the aircraft. After having received at least one indication from the proximity detector relating to the presence of an object, a signal representing an acoustic alarm linked to the detection of the object is generated then transmitted to the warning system. A comparison advantageously is made between the indication received from the proximity detector and certain parameters of the aircraft, the signal representing an acoustic alarm linked to the detection of the object being generated in response to the result of this comparison.

  • Publication number: 20020116354
Abstract: A disclosed method for transforming data from client-server request/response cycle includes receiving session-level semantic events. The session-level semantic events are mapped to accumulation containers based on a policy, for instance, based on a session identifier. The session level semantic events are examined for a type. From the type, the session level semantic events are mapped to one or more rules which perform aggregations, accumulations, or other operations based on the data from the session level semantic events. The rules perform these aggregations, accumulations, or other operations over a set of session level semantic events for generating information (termed “enterprise facts”) that are independent of the client-server protocol and have an meaning in context that spans more than the request/response cycle. Enterprise facts are generated when an session level semantic event that is a triggering condition for an action is received.

  • Publication number: 20020065850
Abstract: Disclosed are computer-implemented methods and systems for generating composite resources of a web site. A request including an identifier of a composite site is received and the identifier used to retrieve a characterization of the composite site. The characterization includes identifiers of component resources that make up the composite site resource as well as the layout in which the components should be assembled to form the composite site resource. Upon identifying the components, this information is passed to a client system that retrieves the component resources, e.g., from across a network. The retrieved components are assembled into the composite site resource at the server side, of a client-server interaction with the end-user. The composite site resource is provided to the end user's client system. An additionally disclosed aspect is where the composite site resources includes an HTML frameset.

  • Publication number: 20020052948
Abstract: Disclosed are computer-implemented systems and methods for the management and operation of network-based partner, e.g., business, relationships. A representation of the partner relationship is established that includes rules for allocation of compensation, the subject matter to come under the partner relationship, and a resources to be presented to users/customers when they encounter an aspect of the partner relationship, for instance by browsing a web site of one of the partner entities. A system implementing the partner relationship includes a transactional engine for monitoring the browsing activity of a user while browsing partner relationship resources. A composite site manager generates the partner relationship resources based on component resources drawn from the partner entities and a presentation characterization forming part of the relationship representation. The transactional engine generates event data from the client-server request/response data flow.

  • Patent number: 6071738
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the desulfurization of a fossil fuel containing one or more organosulfur compounds. In one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of (1) contacting the fossil fuel with a biocatalyst capable of converting the organosulfur compound to an oxyorganosulfur compound which is separable from the fossil fuel; and (2) separating the oxyorganosulfur compound from the fossil fuel. The oxyorganosulfur compound can then be isolated, discarded or further processed, for example, via desulfurization by a biocatalyzed process or an abiotic process, such as hydrodesulfurization.

  • Patent number: 5371740
Abstract: A method of data transmission over an internal bus of a workstation, effecting communication of an interface coupler and a telephone line and devices adapted for various communication functions. The method employs the synchronization signal of a voice network to define 125-microsecond communication frames. Included in each 125-microsecond frame thus defined are a maximum of eight variable-length subframes corresponding to a maximum of eight devices. The first two bytes of each subframe are header bytes. Coded in the header bytes of each subframe are a device destination address, and length codes indicating the number of bytes of data included in the subframe and the number of active bits in the last byte.

  • Patent number: 5310959
Abstract: Processes for preparing 5,8,11-eicosatriynoic acid as well as esters and amides thereof involves initially preparing the acid by reacting 1-decyne with 1,4-dihalo-2-butyne in the presence of a strong base to form 1-halo-2,5-tetradecadiyne which is then reacted with 5-hexynoic acid so as to form 5,8,11-eicosatriynoic acid. This acid can then be converted to the acid chloride form and reacted with an alcohol to form an ester or converted to a potassium salt and reacted with a halide also to form an ester, or after conversion to an acid chloride reacted with an amine in the presence of a tertiary amine to form an amide, or the acid can be reacted with carbonyldiimidazole in the presence of a solvent and excess amine to form an amide.
