    Abstract: A method of polishing a stone surface comprises pre-treating the stone surface, applying a liquid film forming composition to the stone surface, and drying the liquid film forming composition on the stone surface. The pre-treatment includes burnishing the stone surface to form a pretreated stone surface. The liquid film forming composition includes 1 to 10 wt % polymer and 0.1 to 5 wt % wax.
