Patent number: 5894967Abstract: A powder dispenser includes a resilient container for storing a powder and a volume of air therein. The powder has properties which enable a portion of the volume of air to fluidize a portion of the powder when the resilient container is sufficiently deformed. Patent number: 4356941Abstract: A squeeze-type dispenser for a powdered material, commonly known as a puffer duster, for producing a cloud of appropriate treating powder for the control of insects and other infestations, and for similar purposes, in which a squeeze container has a wall that is deformable to decrease the volume of the container and produce a pressurized air source therein to force a stream of air through a passage to a connected nozzle, the passage comprising a thin walled tube connected with the nozzle and having restricted inlet openings so arranged that in any position of a partially filled container, there will be at least one opening positioned in the powder and another opening positioned in an air space within the container, whereby movement of the pressurized air to the nozzle will carry powder from the container to a tube section which is devoid of openings and wherein the powder and air will be mixed in such a manner that the powder will be ejected from the nozzle in the form of a dusting cloud.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1980Date of Patent: November 2, 1982Assignee: Republic Tool & Manufacturing CorporationInventors: John W. Patent number: 4296875Abstract: The foam dispensing apparatus is mountable on a self-propelled or manually propelled vehicle such as a planting, fertilizing and spraying machine or like surface working vehicles. A peristaltic or squeeze type pump has an inlet section for receiving air and a foam agent solution which are mixed and successively moved through the pump for discharge in a foam form from the pump outlet section. A discharge nozzle connected to the outlet section is arranged to apply the foam material on the ground surface at a position adjacent to one side of the vehicle. The pump is driven at a rate in response to the ground speed of the vehicle over the ground surface and the air and foam agent solution mixture may be proportionally varied to maintain visual observance of the foam on the ground surface for varying time periods.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1979Date of Patent: October 27, 1981Assignee: Richway Industries Ltd.Inventor: Richard P. Patent number: 4162748Abstract: Each of first and second shallow hollow cylinders has a closed end and an open end, said cylinders being interconnected at their open ends with the first cylinder being disposed concentrically within the second cylinder. Each cylinder is rotatable through a selected arc with respect to the other cylinder between open and closed positions, the cylinders having cooperating structures which define a channel in the outer surface of the first cylinder which forms a circular arc and which lies in a plane perpendicular to the axes of the cylinders. The first cylinder has first and second oppositely disposed openings extending through the cylinder wall and lying in the plane of the channel, the second cylinder having a third opening extending through the cylinder wall which when the cylinders are in the open position is in registration both with the first opening and the channel and when the cylinders are in the closed position is out of registration with the first opening and the channel.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1978Date of Patent: July 31, 1979Assignee: Risdon Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Robert S. Patent number: 4157789Abstract: A right-angle spray nozzle, intended for a squeeze bottle containing a liquid product with air above the product, provides for forming an aerosol spray from an orifice supplied by a swirl chamber having two tangential injection inlets separately fed by air and product respectively when the bottle is squeezed to pressurize the air above the product in the bottle. The spray is ejected in the form of an aerosol at right angles to the axis of the bottle.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1977Date of Patent: June 12, 1979Inventor: Robert H. Laauwe
