Abstract: A door latch push bar assembly for providing a push bar for unlatching a door latch such as the type found on storm doors. The door latch push bar assembly includes a mounting bracket and an elongate rod having a pair of opposite ends. A first of the ends of the rod is pivotally coupled to the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is designed for mounting to a door adjacent a first side of the door. A second of the ends of the rod is designed for extending towards a second side of the door and for receiving a free end of pivotable lever of a latch adjacent the second side of the door releasably engaging the second side of the door to an adjacent portion of a door frame.

Abstract: A door latch assembly having open and closed positions comprises a door latch and a locking clip removably mounted upon it. The door latch has a bracket mounted on a door and an elongated bolt with a shank slidably and rotatably seated in the bracket. The bolt includes a shank with a handle at one end and a locking arm at the other end extending substantially perpendicularly to the shank. The bolt is rotatable at least 90.degree. about its axis to move the arm between a first position to a second position, and is also reciprocable axially in the bracket to move the arm portion from a first position spaced from the bracket to a second position adjacent to the bracket. The locking clip is removably mounted upon the shank of the bolt between the locking arm of the bolt and the bracket in the first axial position of the bolt, so that, when the clip is mounted upon the bolt, the clip restricts the axial movement of the bolt from the first position by its abutment against the bracket.

Abstract: A lock having a counterweight connected through a lever to a spring-actuated lock bolt on a safe to balance out any inertial forces tending to move the bolt out of its locking position when the safe is struck a heavy blow. A latch forming a part of the lock latches the bolt in its locking position when an attempt is made to dislodge or destroy the lock case or a part thereof. A selectively usable bolt part is effective to change the lock from a deadbolt type to a slam-bolt type.

Abstract: The universal assembly comprises components and parts interchangeable between, for being common to, a top latch and a bottom latch in vertical-rod exit devices. Simply by adding a few discrete parts to the assembly, the same becomes, selectively, a top latch or a bottom latch, The top latch, and the bottom latch, comprise the universal assembly to which the respective, discrete parts have been added. The assembly, and the latches have a rotatable input member with must be rotated to enable retraction of a latch bolt, and a limb operative to block retraction of a latch bolt if the input member is not rotated.

Abstract: The invention comprises the essential operating mechanism for a vertical latching assembly for a closure. It provides adjustment screws, accessibly disposed, externally of the closure (door), for adjusting the effective lengths of the elongate, latch bolt-actuating elements. A centercase, which is mounted externally of the door, has attachment blocks slidably coupled thereto. The blocks carry limbs, of the top and bottom bolt-actuating elements, or rod connectors, and the adjustment screws are threadedly engaged with the limbs for moving them, selectively and adjustably, axially of the centercase.

Abstract: The latch assembly is provided with a locking collar and a pair of knockouts so that the latch assembly can be easily converted to a latch-lock assembly by simply inserting a cylinder lock in the proper knockout, depending upon whether the assembly is used in a right-hand or left-hand installation. The conversion of the assembly may be made before or after installation of the latch-lock assembly.

Abstract: Improvement in a doorbar device for barring the door of a doorway, the doorway having doorjambs and a door therefor, the door having a doorknob, the doorbar device comprising a doorknob constructed to be affixed to the doorjambs of the doorway to extend across and bar the door from being opened, the doorbar device also comprising a mechanism for applying a force upon the doorknob to prevent turning thereof.
