Abstract: A condenser microphone includes a microphone case formed by a metallic cylindrical body and having a three-pin output connector in a connector housing section, and a connection plug having a balanced shielded cable connected to the three-pin output connector by inserting into the connector housing section. The connection plug is provided with a metallic outer ring electrically connected to a shield coated line of the balanced shielded cable, and contacts the inner surface of the connector housing section. A contactor for grounding is formed of a plate spring material to elastically and electrically contact with the outer ring of the connection plug. The contactor is provided on the inner surface side of the connector housing section. Thus, high frequency impedance in a connecting portion between the microphone case and the connection plug on the output cable side is reduced, by which generation of noise due to electromagnetic waves is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6817459
Abstract: The subject invention improves the electrical connection in a clutch assembly for engaging a compressor in a vehicle air conditioning system. In accordance with the subject invention, a tab extends from the mounting plate and the second end of the ground lead is frictionally retained between the tab and the core winding housing. This is accomplished by turning a tab out of the plane of a mounting plate, placing the second end of the ground lead under the tab and bending the tab downwardly to clamp the second end of the ground lead between the tab and the core winding housing to frictionally retain the second end of the ground lead between the tab and the core winding housing.

Abstract: A receptacle connector assembly for an electronic memory card provides and maintains a well-grounded connection between cover plates of the memory card via resilient contacts of a ground contact of the receptacle connector assembly. A memory card includes two conductive cover plates sandwiching the receptacle connector assembly. The receptacle connector assembly comprises an insulative housing formed with two rows of terminal receiving cavities for receiving signal and ground terminals. A distal terminal receiving cavity includes first and second partitions defining first and second ground terminal receiving cavities for receiving first and second ground terminals, and an insertion slot for receiving a ground element. The first and second partitions are formed with a cutout. A ground element positioned in the insertion slot includes a body, two wings extending from opposite ends of the body, and resilient contacts extending from the body inwardly of the wings.

  • Patent number: 6786742
Abstract: A cable connector allows the electrical contacts thereof to come into elastic contact with a ground plate when the cable connector connecting with a shielded cable is fit-connected to a PCB connector through the ground plate. The contact effectiveness of the electrical contacts is improved so that a shield-ground path from the shielded cable to the ground plate has a low impedance. The connector is provided with electrical contacts which are composed of generally U-like bent spring plates. Each spring plate is supported at one end thereof on the shield shell, and comes into elastic contact with the ground plate when the cable connector is fitted into the mating connector.

  • Patent number: 6780068
Abstract: A plug-in connector has an insulating body which holds electrical contacts, for example contact pins or contact tubes, in bores which extend in the axial direction. On its outside, the insulating body has a groove which opens outwardly and which intersects the holes or bores for the contacts over part of their radial extension. A retaining ring fits into the groove and in the working position, simultaneously engages in groove-like recesses provided on the contacts, thereby fixing the contacts in an axial direction. The retaining ring can also support at least one retaining tongue protruding preferably radially inwardly in the plane of the retaining ring. The retaining tongue extends into the area of a further bore for a middle contact through a channel or opening in the insulating body and in the working position, engages in the recess thereof so that this middle contact is also axially fixed.

  • Patent number: 6780029
Abstract: A fitting for securing an electrical cable to an electrically conductive junction box that provides improved electrical continuity between the fitting, the cable, and the junction box. The fitting features a hollow electrical connector having an electrically conductive split snap ring surrounding its leading end. The snap ring includes one or more grounding tangs cantilevered from its outer circumference and a locking tang lanced from each grounding tang. By providing locking tangs integral with the grounding tangs, a greater portion of the periphery of the snap ring is available for forming the grounding tang. The larger grounding tangs provide much greater surface contact between the grounding tangs and the junction box, thereby improving continuity and lowering the millivolt drop.
